Corporate Social Responsibility

At Bajaj Electricals Limited, Corporate Social Responsibility is three-fold. It encompasses not only what we do with our profits, but also how we make them. It goes beyond philanthropy and compliance and addresses how we manage our economic, social, and environmental impacts, as well as our relationships in all key spheres of influence such as marketplace, workplace, public policy, supply chain and society.

CSR Committee

CSR at Bajaj Electricals is guided and driven by the CSR committee at the board level. The committee was formed in the board meeting of 26th March 2014. The committee comprises of Mr Shekhar Bajaj, Mr Anant Bajaj and Dr Indu Shahani (Independent Director). The committee members then presented the CSR policy to the board of members and the policy was approved on 29th May 2014.

Priorities under Community Outreach Programmes

Our priorities for the Community Outreach Programmes which are listed below are as per Schedule VII of Section 135 of New Companies Act 2013

  • Ensuring Environmental sustainability & promoting its Education
    • Initiatives such as solar projects, off grid lighting, tree plantation, waste management
    • Initiatives to support education and awareness on protecting the environment and environment friendly practices
  • Employment, enhancing vocational skills and livelihoods
    • Support technical and vocational programmes to generate employment
    • Support social enterprises to enhance livelihoods, to reach the last mile who can have access to quality products & services
  • Promoting Preventing Health Care
    • Continued support to the Anti-Tobacco Programme and campaign
  • Gender Equality – Cross cutting theme
    • Focussing on gender diversity within the organization & programmes
